Q. What temperature should you set your thermostat while you are out of town or on vacation during the heating season?

A. Adjust the temperature 5 to 10 degrees colder than you generally do during the day without dropping lower than 60 degrees.
Maintaining a temperature of at least 60 degrees while you’re on vacation will provide noticeable energy savings while minimizing the risk of frozen pipes.
