What is a Ductless Heat Pump?

Unlike traditional heat pump systems, ductless or mini-split heat pump systems provide heating and cooling without the need for ductwork. Traditional heat pumps are already extremely efficient compared to other HVAC systems but ductless heat pumps take this efficiency a step further.

Been in our home almost 35 years. Couple months ago, I saw water on the floor under our washing machine. Decided to replace the washer. Went to the basement to look above where the laundry room water supply lines come up through the floor and saw an electrical junction box under the supply lines. Checking the box, there were mineral deposits on the cover, suggesting water leak in the past. Figuring electricity and water don't mix too well, I called KM Heating & A/C's electrical division to have someone come out to move the junction box, as our sump pump is plugged into a socket on the junction box. Josh was out on April 19 to do the repair. He chose to move the box over a foot away from the water supply line and managed to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Wiring was added and new conduit with connectors were put in. Couldn't be happier to know the new junction box won't get wet, spark up, or cause a fire. New box and conduit can be seen in the picture.

We had a great experience having Kettle Moraine install a mini split heat pump on our sunroom so we can use it year-round. Scheduling the estimate was really easy, Jay was very patient with us as we asked a lot of questions about the different options we could use for the room, and then Sherri in the office was awesome for figuring out our final details and payments. The crew on the install day was on time, didn’t leave any trace that they were even here, and did a great job. The pricing was comparable with the other big companies in the area but we felt most comfortable with the staff at KM.

I called Kettle Moraine Heating & Cooling llc to have an AC unit that had been out of service inspected and returned to operation. The AC unit had not been in use for a few years and had a potential unknown leak. Luke contacted me and arranged an arrival time and he arrived at the stated time. He was very thorough in his inspection of my complete system. Luke determined it was likely that a previous contractor had put leak stop into my systems coil. Luke informed me that although it was not KMHC’s practice to do this he said it seemed likely that it may have worked to fix the leak however was clear that although he had charged the AC system with pressure to test for leaks that it was possible that the system still had some leak somewhere that could reappear. He told me the options of either taking a bit of a risk and charging the system or replacement. He was clear that charging the system offered no guarantee but that there was a potential to save quiet a bit of money if it did work. We chose this option and are moving forward with some confidence that we are hopefully making the right choice although there is a risk. Upon inspecting our complete system Luke determined that our Furnace blower was not working properly and thankfully it was indeed still under warranty which in the end will save me $1800 dollars on replacement. Luke ordered a replacement blower and he will call me and return to install it . I am very confident in the work and inspection that was done and will always return to Kettle Moraine Heating and cooling in the future.

Mark Billeb was on time and very cordial. He completed the annual service in a very timely manner. He was also able to repair the low voltage wire leading back to the A/C unit. I told him that if the weather wasn't good not to worry about repaing the wire. He had it completed before the rain hit. The installation crew were right on time and did a professional job. They were all all professionally dressed and very respecful and great guys. They installed my new modulating furnace, modulating air conditioner, new thermostat, and a new Merv 16 filtering. They installed it all within about 6 hours so don't worry that you will be without air or heat until the next day. They cleaned and vacuumed around and it was cleaner than when they started.I was amazed when they started it up. I asked is it on and he showed me it was running and I had to go to a vent and feel if the heat and later the cooling to verify it was running. Its so quite that we can watch TV without turning the volume up when the furnace comes on.I suggest anyone in the area get a quote from them and thy will be competitive and do a great job.

I contacted Kettle Moraine Heating and Air to check our furnace and determine why it wasn’t running correctly. They said they could have a service tech at my house at 2:00pm. Brett arrived at my house promptly at 2:00 and began working to determine what the problem was. He figured out that the problem was the blower module, but unfortunately he didn’t have the part on his truck. Brett didn’t want to leave me with a inoperable furnace and schedule another service call, so he drove back to his shop to get the part and quickly returned to my house in less than 30 minutes.The new part was installed and the furnace was up and running in no time.Brett is a very professional and knowledgeable technician, and very friendly and easy to talk to. He explains how furnaces work and describes what needs to be done to maintain them correctly. Brett is a great asset to Kettle Moraine Heating and Air, and to his customers!
