Thank you for reading! We hope you and your loved ones have a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday!
Do you and your family prefer a live Christmas tree? Check out these tips!
Fresh-cut Christmas trees are thirsty! During the first 24 hours after being cut, trees can consume up to one gallon of water!
This lessens to about a quart a day leading up until Christmas. Consistent watering is key.
Before placing your tree in its stand and water dish, cut the base of the tree about 1 inch above the original cut.
This helps with water absorption by opening up pores in the trunk in case it has become clogged with sap.
Be sure to keep your tree away from all heat sources, including heating and air vents, fireplaces, portable heaters, and direct sunlight. The cooler the better.
This not only keeps your tree fresh longer, but it also reduces fire safety hazards.
