Set Your Thermostat to This Setting While Vacuuming:
If you’ve noticed that your allergy symptoms worsen after vacuuming, you’re not alone. According to a news article by WebMD, vacuuming can release and re-suspend dust and allergens in your home, increasing exposure.
Fortunately, there’s a simple HVAC hack you can try that may lessen those symptoms and lead to an even cleaner home. Setting your thermostat fan to “ON” instead of “AUTO” while vacuuming can help reduce allergy symptoms by continuously circulating your home’s air and capturing airborne dust and allergens in your system’s air filter. The better filter you have, the more dust it can capture.
For best results, set the thermostat’s fan setting to “ON” about 15 minutes prior to vacuuming, while vacuuming, and for 15 minutes after.

March is Women’s History Month
We’re Celebrating Women in HVAC!
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, out of 367,900 Americans in the HVAC industry, only 1.4% were women. While the HVAC industry has been predominantly male-led, this doesn’t mean that women shouldn’t pursue careers in HVAC or the trades.
In fact, there has never been a better time for women to enter the trades! The industry is growing, and the need for skilled professionals increases every day due to an aging workforce. Careers in the trades are a wonderful opportunity for women to showcase just how valuable their skill sets are.
Women who enter the trades not only find rewarding, high-paying, and secure careers, they inspire the next generations to challenge stereotypes and engage with work that keeps our society functioning.
At Kettle Moraine Heating & Air Conditioning, we’re convinced that our people make the difference. We strongly believe that happy employees lead to even happier customers.
Are you or anyone you know interested in developing skills in HVAC or related trades? Click below to learn more and apply today.
