Energy Star A voluntary product labeling program from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy for products in over 35 categories. Products that carry the Energy Star label, because of their high efficiency, will produce savings in the long run on utility bills and are more environmentally friendly than non-Energy Star products. The government, under the Energy Policy Act of 2005, has reinstated the federal tax credit given to homeowners making certain energy efficient home improvements on their primary residence from 2009 - 2010. Up to a $1,500 tax credit is available for qualifying furnace and air conditioner installations! We have many units that qualify for the tax credit. As there are some stipulations on the use of the tax credit, we suggest seeking advise from your accountant on whether or not you will be able to take advantage of it.
